Reiki
At Massage Therapy Connections, we understand there is a indisputable link between our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. While we are a massage therapy business, some of our therapists have dedicated time, energy, and practice in various related areas of study. They offer these services as additional ways to address overall health and happiness.
Reiki Therapy allows your therapist with specialized training to tap into your energy field with intention and focus and is a therapy often described as palm healing or hands-on-body healing in which a practitioner places hands lightly on or over a patient’s body to facilitate the patient’s process of healing. Each session is unique to the individual and most clients leave with a sense that their energy shifted or balanced.
CranioSacral Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle hands-on method of enhancing the flow of craniosacral fluid, blood and lymph. This facilitates the body’s natural healing.” – Dr. John E. Upledger
The craniosacral system is comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. By freeing the central nervous system to perform at its best, CST naturally reduces pain and stress, strengthens resistance to disease and enhances health and well-being. Because it’s so gentle, CST has proven effective for people of all ages.
Test results support CST as an effective therapy to assist with:
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Concussions
- Panic Attacks
- Insomnia
- Chronic Anxiety
- Chronic Pain Issues
- Depression
- Mental Functioning
- Reducing Inflammation and Removing Harmful Toxicity in the Brain
- Enhancing Health of the Neuro-Skeletal-Muscular-Vascular System
What Can I Expect From A Session?
A typical CST session takes places in a quiet setting. You remain fully clothed as you relax on your back on the massage table. Your therapist begins by gently touching various parts of your head and body to monitor the rhythm of the fluid that is flowing around your central nervous system. By carefully listening with the hands to locate areas of weak fluid or tissue motion, your therapist can trace those areas of weakness through the body to the original source of dysfunction.
Delicate manual techniques are then used to release those problem areas and improve the form and function of your central nervous system.A CST session can last up to an hour or more. It can be used alone or integrated with other therapies to facilitate powerful changes.
